In short
The apps do not collect, store or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK.
Network access
RPN 12C and RPN 15C make no network request at all. They contain the whole calculator and download nothing; they work entirely offline.
The emulators (RPN 50g, RPN 48, RPN 49G) need HP's firmware (or ROM), which is not included: it is downloaded from hpcalc.org when you choose a version and confirm. RPN 50g and RPN 48 check each download against its known fingerprint and, if hpcalc.org does not answer, take the identical file from a backup copy on GitHub (github.com/gpasa/rpn-roms).
RPN 50g, RPN 48, RPN 49G, RPN 17bII+, RPN 32sII and RPN 35s can download HP's manuals from literature.hpcalc.org, each only when you ask for it and confirm.
These downloads are the only network requests the apps make. They contain nothing beyond what any file download involves (the address of the file and the standard information your device sends with every HTTPS request). hpcalc.org and GitHub are operated independently of the apps; their own privacy practices apply to those downloads.
Data on your device
The calculator's memory, the firmware images, the manuals you downloaded and the emulated SD card are stored on your device only, in the app's own storage. RPN 50g's SD card folder is visible in the Files app (iPhone, iPad, Android) or chosen by you in the Finder (Mac) or the Explorer (Windows), so that you can exchange files with the calculator. The simulators store only the calculator's memory. Nothing is synchronised to any server by the apps. Deleting an app deletes its data.
Permissions (Android)
On Android the apps ask only for network access, used for the downloads above. They ask for no access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or files.
Purchases
The apps are sold through the App Store and Google Play (RPN 50g and RPN 48 also through the Microsoft Store). The store processes the purchase; the apps never see your payment details or your account.
Children
The apps are suitable for all ages and collect no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
